Branch of Service: United States Army & United States Marine Corps

State: Colorado

A native of Texas, Jason enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the aviation field for nearly eight years. After his time in the Marines, he went back to school and earned a bachelor’s degree in History. After graduating, he joined the US Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC). A year later, he earned another bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a commission as an officer in the Ordnance Corps.

Jason served with the First Cavalry Division and deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2009-2010. Upon returning home, both he and family noticed stark differences. Jason suffers from chronic pain that impacts him both mentally and physically. He was medically retired in September of 2015 and since that time, has focused on the healing process for himself and other veterans. Jason is married and has three amazing children that light up his world. Jason says that his family instills a sense of purpose and makes him a better person.

Through Warriors to Summits, Jason is looking forward to moving through his own barriers to live a more enriched and productive life. He also is looking forward to meeting the others on the team and helping out where he can.
