A Different Lens
Now that Team Gannett Peak is at home and has had time to start reflecting on their journey over the last six months, we wanted to know what they took away from their expedition. We asked team member, Paul, to share his thoughts with us:
So it’s been 10 days since I have been home. I’m looking at things through a very different lens. The problems are still here but they don’t seem as big.
What I used to look at as barriers, I now see as challenges that I can overcome. I now have a purpose and a drive. I now set obtainable goals and have a clearing view of what I want my future to look like. And even though I’m disappointed that people in my life don’t see all the good that I bring to the table, it’s now ok because I know that I have so much to offer!
My kids see a real positive change in me and that’s all that I care about. At the end of the day I know I matter and I’m a good Dad. I just need to stay involved and on course.
And of course, with the right guidance and direction I look forward to serving so many more Veterans.
