Teamwork

Being part of the 2015 Warriors to Summits expedition is hard. This is by no means just another leisurely stroll through the rolling hills of the west. It’s taken the team up mountains, over rivers, through valleys and opened their eyes and hearts to the possibilities of the future.

Now four months into this journey, the men and women of Team Gannett Peak have sweated, cursed and powered their way through three official trainings, shed countless calories and pounds, taped up endless blisters and have created friends and memories that will last a lifetime. There’s less than a month to go until the team attempts to face off with the 13,804 foot tall chunk of granite in the middle of the Wind River Mountains, so we wanted to check in with the warriors to see how they were doing.

We know each and every warrior is busy training, preparing and getting fit for next month’s climb, so we didn’t want to take up too much of their valuable time before they head out to Wyoming in early September.

We simply asked them, “What words come to mind when you think about Warriors to Summits and being part of Team Gannett Peak?”

Here’s what they had to say:

Warriors to Summits word cloud of their thoughts on being part of Team Gannett Peak

Team Gannett Peak, each and every one of you inspire us every day. We’ll be supporting you, tracking you and walking with you through every step of this climb. Good luck, stay #WarriorStrong!
